How?

I would recommend taking several beginning drop-in classes offered before any of the dances or practices
If you want to learn more check out a group series class (usually they run between 4-6 weeks),
and attend the practicas (informal venues to practice what you've learned in the classes).
Make sure you get a few CD's so you can listen to the music -- it's not the easiest music to dance to in the beginning
if you're not used to it.
This dance is not easy in the beginning, so be humble and stay in the beginning classes until you
really know you are ready to move onto the intermediate classes. My intermediate classes
assume that you have been taking classes and dancing for at least one year.
Talk with other people in the practicas and get to know them on a social level -- that will
make it easier to approach them when you want to dance with them in the future.
When you feel like you are ready -- attend the "milongas", or social dances.
It is considered good etiquette to not teach on the milonga floor -- just go out,
have fun, and reap the fruits of your tango labors!
